All About FOG

On this page you can read a brief overview of the beliefs at Fellowship of Grace. Alternatively, you can listen to Pastor Michael Porter outline the Church’s organization and beliefs in more detail.

The Scriptures

We believe that the entire Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is inerrant and infallible as the standard for life. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth without any mixture of error for its content.

The Trinity

We believe there is one living, perfect, and true God who was, is, and is to come. He reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit with distinct personal attributes, but unified in nature, essence, and being.

Man

We believe that all things were created by God, including man, and that man was created in the image of God. Through Satan’s temptation and man’s disobedience, man sinned and fell, and the entire human race shares in this sinfulness that separates him from God.

God

We believe Jesus, the eternal Son of God, took upon Himself the form of a man by means of the virgin birth. Atonement for sin was made by the sacrificial and substitutional death of Jesus Christ on the cross.

Salvation

We believe salvation is the gift of God by grace alone and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and that once a person has truly received Him they can never lose this position in God’s Family. We also believe that this faith is always evident by works pleasing to God.

The Resurrection

We believe in the resurrection of the crucified Lord, Jesus Christ, victorious over sin and death. We also believe in His ascension into heaven and His intercession for us.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is the Promise of the Father, sent to convict the world of sin and be our Comforter and Helper in time of need. We believe the Holy Spirit indwells the believer upon salvation and bestows spiritual gifts to believers to edify the Church.

Ordinances

We believe that the ordinances of the church, by the command of Christ, are water baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper, both of which are administered to those who are born again.

Divine Institutions

We believe the two divine institutions created by God are the church, which is the community of people redeemed by Jesus Christ, and the family, as defined in the Scriptures.

Sanctity of Human Life

We believe that God creates each person with a living soul, beginning at conception.

Heaven and Hell

We believe in the eternal salvation of the believers and in the eternal separation from God and punishment of those who reject Christ. We believe in the visible, personal, and glorious return of Jesus Christ, at His second coming to establish His eternal Kingdom.
